Hasbro's VcamNow ($79.99 list) looks like a miniature video camera and is the only one tested that plays footage back (seven minutes on a chip). But image quality is unaccountably poor.
Digital Blue's Tony Hawk HelmetCam ($99.99). It has no viewfinder but attaches to the side of a helmet with a strap and a glue pad -- aim it by turning your head. It shines a red laser beam to help (but is almost invisible in daylight). The software includes stock footage of skateboarder Hawk and sound effects.
Digital Blue's American Idol Camcorder ($99.99 list). This one flops hard, and not in the William Hung-so-bad-I'm-entertaining way. How do you make homemade music video when the microphone doesn't connect to the camera but to the computer, tethering you 6 feet away? It's a webcam with a glamorous name.
