WESTLAKE VILLAGE, CA - November 18, 2005 - A Virginia man named Jamie King just this week moved 24/7 on to a billboard in South Carolina in part to help raise funds for a national non-partisan charity.
Jamie will spend Thanksgiving atop this billboard, and will not only be raising money, but raising his food -- literally. Joined by his family below -- including his wife, who will not be cooking Thanksgiving dinner for the first time in 30 years -- Jamie will be delivered his food, cooked by local chefs, on a pulley up to his one-month, high-rise home away from home.
Said Jamie King, "As the proud son of an Army machine gunner who was awarded the Purple Heart and Silver Star, I understand what sacrifice and heroism are all about. I am honored to have the opportunity to work with the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, and am fully committed to reaching our goal of raising a half-million dollars or more for the education of children whose parents have died in combat."
