Country singer LeAnn Rimes has canceled her Aug. 19 concert at the Paladium Amphitheatre at Paramount's Carowinds.Rimes suffered a leg infection in July. Ticket holders should return tickets to the point of purchase for a refund.
Mike Drummond, who spent the past three years as an associate athletic director at Winthrop University, will become the athletics director at South Pointe High. He'll begin Aug. 21.Drummond, 48, is replacing Ray Alexander, who left to become assistant principal at York Junior High.
"This is a good opportunity," Drummond said. "It's sort of a neat situation, to get to work at the high school level and see the kids progress."
The zoo recommends that tiger lovers tune in during the early morning and afternoon hours, when tigers are most active. The big cats often cool off during the day by splashing in the water pools inside their compound.
The ZooView camera started as a way to watch the zoo's penguins; the zoo extended the monthlong online exhibit for another month because of popular demand. It added a second camera, which was focused on the white alligator exhibit before it switched to the tigers.
